On Sunday 17th June Rotary Club of Wonthaggi President Ashley Lamers and Secretary Charmaine Wheto were honored at the Rotary District 9820 Changeover Function, with each being awarded a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.  Rotary District Governor Don Ripper presented the awards in recognition for service to youth across South Gippsland and Bass Coast in bringing renowned presenter Marcus Akuhata-Brown to speak with our youth at various Secondary Colleges across the Region.  In presenting the awards District Governor Don Ripper highlighted – “you became inspired, had a vision, made a plan and then executed it.”  The hard work and dedication of both Ashley and Charmaine resulted in a successful round of engagements with many local youth inspired to achieve.

The Rotary Club of Wonthaggi would like to also thank our cluster Rotary clubs for their dedication to the program.  We would like to thank the South Gippsland & Bass Coast Local Learning & Employment Network (LLEN) for their significant support and also acknowledge the work undertaken by teachers and staff at the various schools who participated.  Special mention also to Rotary Assistant Governor Dr. Cheryl Glowery, of Federation University, who was instrumental in ensuring the success of the program.

Congratulations to Ashley and Charmaine.
