We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new project Envision’s Helping Hands. Officially launched on Wednesday 27th March at the Bass Coast Shire Council. The launch was organized in conjunction with a visit from the deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne Arron Woods, who visited Wonthaggi to promote the 20 year anniversary of his program Kids teaching Kids at Wonthaggi Secondary College. It is great to be apart of this unique environmental and humanitarian project.
Envision’s Helping Hands begins by targeting waste, with the common perception that bottle caps are not recyclable and therefore ending up in landfill and even worse into our oceans. The project focuses on the collection of bottle caps, with the focus of involving local schools in the collection processes. The caps are the shredded down into plastic beads then turned into filament.
With the use of a 3D printer the filament is used to create prosthetic hands for children in war torn and third world countries.
Giving each child the opportunity towards a more fulfilling life.
Our commitment over the next two years is to collect and contribute 100,000 bottle caps to assist towards Envision’s goal of 1million.
