Our club Changeover Dinner was held on Friday 22nd June at the Wonthaggi Club.  Gary Sharrock had the important role of MC for the night and he made sure the night kept to the program (as best he could).

A special presentation to a special Rotarian – John Owens OAM was presented with a framed certificate and photos in recognition of his tireless work for Rotary and the Community over 53 years as a member of the Rotary Club of Wonthaggi.  Our esteemed colleague will now move from being our longest serving Active member to our newest Honorary member.  A big thank you to John and Margaret Owens.

Our Rotary Exchange Student Andre provided a lighthearted and entertaining overview of his year in Australia.  Andre has helped us older members realize how great the youth of today are and that International boundaries are disappearing.  What a tremendous ambassador for Brazil, who has added real value to our club and the wider community across Wonthaggi.  All the best for your future Andre.

Outgoing President Ashley Lamers highlighted the significant achievements of our club during the 2017/2018 Rotary year – well done to everyone.

Assistant Governor Cheryl Glowery carried out the Induction of Graeme Sprague as the Rotary Club of Wonthaggi President for 2018/2019

Incoming President Graeme Sprague provided an overview of the year ahead, with programs involving Youth, the proposed Rotary Sculpture Park and our ongoing assistance with other significant community events being undertaken by the Wonthaggi Business & Tourism Association as well as the Bass Coast Show committee.  Graeme also spoke of our club’s new home base in South Dudley – let’s make the most of it.

Thanks to all who attended to make this a memorable and enjoyable night.
